SAP MM : How to Maintain External Material Groups in SAP ?

In this tutorial we will learn how to maintain External material groups.  In this step you can assign a material to an external material group, or to a material group that was created using externally-defined (non-SAP) structures.

Example

You can, for example, specify the CCG material group or the Nielsen material group here.

STEP 1: Following is the path to Maintain External Material Groups

• IMG activity path :IMG > LOGISTICS – GENERAL  => MATERIAL MASTER  => SETTINGS FOR KEY FIELS=> MAINTAIN EXTERNAL MATERIAL GROUPS
• Transaction code : SPRO

STEP 2:  Click on execute button to MAINTAIN EXTERNAL MATERIAL GROUPS (Following type Window will open), Click on “New Entries” button to create the new External Material Group

ST EP 3:  Following type Window will Open

 STEP 4:  Update the Following Details

• Ext. Material Group : Give the appropriate  External Material Group Name
• Ext. Matl Grp Descr. : Give External Material Group appropriate Description 

STEP 5:   Click on Save Button to store Configured data
